Ideas for the Most Liberal Colleges?

Hey guys, I personally identify more with the liberal side and was wondering what are some of the most liberal colleges that I could apply to? I'm not really specific about the location but good weather would be a plus.

There are several colleges in the United States known for their politically liberal student body.

When it comes to a strong liberal tradition, you certainly can consider schools like Reed College in Portland, Oregon, which is known for its active student body and a tradition of academic rigor. Another one to look at would be Oberlin College in Ohio: it was one of the first colleges in the U.S. to admit women and African American students.

Next, there's Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. Hampshire is known for its alternative curriculum and emphasis on student self-guidance - a does not use traditional grading methods, which allows students to take a more flexible and individualized approach to their studies.

University of California, Berkeley, often colloquially referred to as "Berkeley," is another choice. In addition to its rigorous academics, Berkeley has a long history of student activism dating back to the 1960s with the Free Speech Movement.

Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania is well-known for its commitment to social justice and civic engagement. The college has a long history of activism and presents a diverse range of perspectives in its curriculum.

If you want good weather, then you might also want to check out Pitzer College in California. A member of the Claremont Colleges, Pitzer has a reputation for environmental activism and social justice.

Rounding up the list is Evergreen State College in Washington. This public liberal arts college has an unconventional academic structure where students design their programs of study.

Remember, while it's important to consider the overall political climate of your potential colleges, you should also consider other factors such as academic programs, school size and location, financial aid, and student resources.

It's also worth noting that even colleges known for their liberal atmosphere will typically still have spaces for a variety of ideologies, so you'll likely find diverse thoughts and opinions in any of these institutions.
