How many HBCUs are there in Florida?

I'm trying to make a list of HBCUs to consider and I realized Florida might be a cool place to study. Can someone tell me how many HBCUs are located there, and if they have strong programs in the sciences?

Absolutely, I'd be happy to help! In Florida, there are four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). These are Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, and Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens. When it comes to science programs, FAMU, in particular, is known for its strong research facilities and programs in the STEM fields. They have a notable College of Science and Technology that offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. Bethune-Cookman and Florida Memorial also offer a range of science programs that you might find appealing. It's always a good idea to explore each school's website or contact their admissions department to get more detailed information about their science offerings to see which align with your interests and academic goals. Visiting the campuses, if possible, can also give you a fantastic firsthand look at their facilities and community. Best of luck with your college search!
