Colleges loved by WA residents?

Anyone else from Washington here? I’m currently putting together my college list, and I’m curious. Where are all the WA students heading post-graduation? What are the most popular colleges for us?

As a Washington student, you're surrounded by a plethora of great options, both in-state and out-of-state. Here are some colleges that have traditionally seen strong interest from Washington students.

1. University of Washington (UW) - Seattle, WA: Many students from Washington unsurprisingly apply to and attend UW due to its strong academic programs, vibrant city life, and for some, in-state tuition benefits.

2. Washington State University (WSU) - Pullman, WA: WSU is popular among Washington residents due to its welcoming campus atmosphere, exciting athletics, and, like UW, in-state tuition benefits.

3. Western Washington University (WWU) - Bellingham, WA: WWU is another well-respected school within the state that draws many Washingtonians with its scenic campus and diverse academic offerings.

Outside of Washington, there are a few out-of-state institutions that also attract a significant number of students from the state.

1. University of Oregon (UO) - Eugene, OR: Many Washington students cross the state border to attend UO, drawn by its dynamic campus life, excellent programs, and the excitement of PAC-12 athletics.

2. Oregon State University (OSU) - Corvallis, OR: OSU is another popular choice due to its robust STEM programs and lively campus community.

3. Boise State University (Boise State) - Boise, ID: Boise State offers a variety of major options and a vibrant city to explore, making it another attractive choice for WA students.

Remember, the best school for you is ultimately going to align closely with your own academic, professional, and personal goals, regardless of where other students may be applying. Washington happens to be home to a wide variety of post-secondary institutions, so you're well-positioned to find a college that's an excellent fit for you!
