Colleges with famous athlete alumni?

Recently did some binge-reading about athletes and their education. It got me curious, which colleges have the largest number of known athletes as alumni? Does anyone know where I can find records, like a list or something, of the most known athletes and their college degrees?

While there may not be a single comprehensive list of colleges with the most famous athlete alumni, I can share some institutions that are particularly renowned for their athletic programs and athlete alumni.

1. University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill: Michael Jordan, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, studied here.

2. University of Miami: It has produced NFL stars including Ray Lewis and Ed Reed.

3. Stanford University: Known for breadth across many sports and has produced famous athletes like NFL quarterback John Elway and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.

4. University of Southern California: Has produced many NFL players, and is the alma mater of swimmer and Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky.

5. University of California, Los Angeles: This is where Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Walton, both basketball giants, studied.

Interestingly, some universities are known for specific sports, like the University of Connecticut for women's basketball, or the University of Alabama for football.

Bear in mind that famous athletes often go to universities with strong athletic programs in their sport of interest. However, this doesn't necessarily mean they complete their degrees, as professional opportunities may arise during their college careers.

I'm sure others can add more details or other colleges to this list, but these are just a few examples that come to mind!
