Looking for Most LGBT Friendly Colleges in America

Hey folks, I'm a junior and actively starting my college search. As an LGBT student, I'm really interested in finding a college that is incredibly supportive and welcoming to the LGBT community. What are some of the most LGBT friendly colleges across the entire United States?

There are many welcoming environments for LGBT+ students across the country! A few that commonly stand out in this regard include:

1. University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA): UCLA is often noted for its strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. The school has an LGBT Resource Center, which was established in 1995, and it offers a variety of resources and events.

2. Stanford University: Stanford is another university with a strong commitment to LGBT+ students. The Stanford Pride alumni group is one of the oldest in the country, and the university offers gender-inclusive housing options and support services.

3. Brown University: With the Brown Center for Students of Color, Brown University makes a strong effort in promoting inclusivity and equity for all its students, including those in the LGBT+ community. The university has an active LGBT+ community along with many resources, programming, and support.

4. Rutgers University - This university offers an inclusive community for LGBT+ students and also has an "LGBTQ and Diversity Resource Center". The center hosts a number of events and programming for students throughout the year.

5. University of Wisconsin - Madison: The university's Gender and Sexuality Campus Center offers services and resources for LGBT+ students, and the school is often recognized for its robust LGBT+ friendly policies and resources.

6. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) - MIT houses the "LGBTQ+ Services and Rainbow Lounge" that provides comprehensive resources inclusive of mentorship programs, workshops, events etc. The campus strives to foster a safe, inclusive environment for all.

These are just a few examples, there are many more great schools out there. Remember to also look at the specific resources a school offers, such as gender-inclusive housing, counseling services, student organizations, and whether they have an LGBTQ+ center or designated office. You might also want to examine each college's anti-discrimination policies and curriculum inclusivity. Remember, the best college for you will depend on other factors as well, such as academic interests, size, location, etc. Good luck with your search!
