What college professor subjects are most in need?

I'm not just thinking about college, but possibly teaching at one in the future. Anyone happen to know what subjects are most in need when it comes to college professors? I know this is a bit further ahead, but it could influence my major and career path plans.

There's definitely a demand for college professors in various disciplines and this demand varies based on the type of institution, geographical location and other factors. However, some fields generally have a consistent high demand.

Addictions counseling is one area where there's an escalating need due to the increasing number of people seeking help for substance abuse. The demand for professors in the field of counseling, especially in specialized areas like drug and mental health counseling, continues to grow.

Another field with a growing need for professors is nursing. With hospitals and healthcare facilities growing exponentially, higher-level nursing education professors are in demand. Additionally, many current nursing professors are nearing retirement age, creating a greater need for new educators.
