Is it possible for non-black students to attend an HBCU?

Hey folks! Quick question - I've been looking into HBCUs because I really admire the culture and educational strengths they offer. I'm not Black, and I just want to make sure it's acceptable for me to apply? Will I be welcomed and are there supportive resources for diverse students at HBCUs?

Absolutely, non-Black students can apply and are welcomed at HBCUs! HBCUs were originally established to educate African American students when they were excluded from predominantly white institutions, but they have a long tradition of welcoming students from all backgrounds. They emphasize a supportive and inclusive environment. You'll find that there are resources like multicultural centers and diversity offices to ensure that all students feel included and supported. Plus, by attending an HBCU, you'll get to experience an environment with a rich heritage and contribute to its diversity. You should definitely apply if you feel that an HBCU is the right fit for you academically and culturally. Best of luck with your applications!
