Hi all, I've read a few articles on the Daily Beast regarding college rankings. They always talk about the 'most rigorous' colleges. What exactly does this mean and how much should I factor this into my decision process when selecting schools?

When talking about the 'most rigorous' colleges, such an expression generally refers to the academic challenge posed by the curriculum and the workload at these institutions. These colleges typically have a demanding course load, high expectations for students' understanding of material, and competitive academic cultures. This might manifest in extensive reading lists, high-stakes testing, and an emphasis on critical thinking and in-depth analysis.
