Who's scored the most titles in college football history?

Sporty junior here! I've always been into college football and often follow the championships. Just for my curiosity (and to have another point to consider for college choices), I would like to know which colleges have won the most national championship titles in football history. Can any of you provide this info?

Sure, it's always good to find a college that mirrors your interests on and off the field! In terms of total national championships in college football, the University of Alabama and the University of Notre Dame both have a strong track record.

As of now (not including potential future wins), the University of Alabama leads the pack with the most claimed national titles. They claim 18 championships as of 2022. This is followed closely by the University of Notre Dame, which claims 13 national championships.

However, it's worth mentioning that the method of counting titles can sometimes stir up debate due to different era’s ways of identifying champions and the fact that multiple organizations have awarded these titles.

These schools also boast exceptional athletic programs overall, so if you're keen on sports, they could be good options to consider. They're also academically rigorous, so do factor that in as well.

As you're considering colleges, remember to look beyond just the success of their sports teams. Academics, campus culture, location, and your future goals should also be important aspects of your decision. Good luck in your college search!
