Who are the most-followed college basketball teams?

Hi all! I'm currently on my journey to figuring out the college scene and I absolutely love basketball. Anyone know which college basketball teams are the most followed or popular ones? Would really appreciate the insight.

There are quite a few college basketball teams with a large following, often stemming from a long history of excellence on the court.

1. Duke University Blue Devils: Duke has one of the most passionate fan bases in college basketball, known as the "Cameron Crazies". The Blue Devils have a rich history with multiple National Championships under their belt, mostly under the guidance of legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski.

2. University of North Carolina (UNC) Tar Heels: UNC is a storied program with numerous National Championships titles. The historic rivalry between UNC and Duke is one of the most fervently followed in the sport.

3. University of Kentucky Wildcats: The Wildcats consistently rank among the top in the country for attendance at home games. The team has an impressive number of National Championships and has consistently produced NBA talent.

4. Kansas Jayhawks: The Jayhawks have a huge following due to their historically successful program. The team has won multiple National Championships and consistently has strong seasons.

5. UCLA Bruins: Once dominant under John Wooden, UCLA has the most National Championships in NCAA history. Though they've faced ups and downs in recent years, the Bruins still maintain a significant following.

These are just a few examples, and while popularity can fluctuate over time, these teams regularly draw significant attention during the college basketball season. Remember, though, if you're considering attending a school for its sports following, you should also consider other important factors, such as academic programs, campus life, financial aid, etc.
