Marriage and College: Which colleges have the most married students?

This might sound odd, but I'm engaged and plan to be married before I attend college. I'm honestly wondering, are there any colleges known to have a higher proportion of married students? It might be a more welcoming environment for me. Thanks in advance!

The decision for education and married life at the same time can be tremendously rewarding, though it may pose some unique challenges. Colleges with a significant population of non-traditional students or those that cater to specific demographics, like faith-based colleges, often have a higher proportion of married students.

1. Brigham Young University is well-known for having a fairly significant married student body. This is partly because of its relationship with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which emphasizes family.

2. Liberty University, a Christian college in Virginia, also has quite a number of married students. It's a large university with a vast array of programs, making it attractive for a number of students in different life circumstances.

3. Institutions with robust online or distance learning programs often attract a higher number of married students, as these options provide flexibility for those juggling family life and education. Western Governors University and Southern New Hampshire University are examples of such.

4. Universities in military towns, such as University of Maryland Global Campus or Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, typically have a higher number of married students due to the number of military families in the area.

Remember, no matter where you go, there will be organizations and support systems available. Reach out to prospective colleges' student life offices to inquire about any resources they might have for married students.
