Looking for popular pen & paper notebooks used in college.

As a high school junior starting to prep for college, I'm thinking about how my note-taking might change. I noticed that everyone has a definitive notebook kinda they swear by. So, what are the most popular pen and paper notebooks you guys have seen or used in college? Any recommendations?

From my experience, the notebook that works best for you really depends on your personal preferences and the nature of the class you're taking.

For example, many students appreciate the versatility of Five Star notebooks, which offer durable covers and a variety of page counts - something that can be useful if you're in a class that requires heavy note-taking. These notebooks often have dividers too, making them suitable for multiple classes.

Many college students also love Moleskine notebooks. They don't have loose rings that can snag on your bag, and their durability and decent paper quality are a major plus. In particular, many find Leuchtturm1917 notebooks to be a quality step up from Moleskine if one is willing to pay a bit more.

For students in mathematics or engineering fields, a graph paper notebook, such as those offered by Oxford, can be really useful for jotting down equations or sketching diagrams.

And then there's the classic composition notebook, which is sturdy and doesn't have any wires that could interfere with left-handed writing.

As for pens, when it comes to writing instruments, the Pilot G2 gel pen is a popular choice for its smooth writing and comfortable grip. The Uni-ball Jetstream pen is another favorite for similar reasons.

In the end, it's all about what works best for your studying and note-taking habits. Consider the type of classes you'll be taking, how you typically organize your notes, and what kind of writing instruments feel comfortable for you to use, then test a few out to see what fits. The perfect pen and paper notebook might take a bit of trial and error to find!
