I've been put in charge of planning some events for my club next year and wanted to come up with some original college party themes that aren't overdone. Any ideas, folks?
It's always fun to come up with something unique, especially when so many classic themes seem to get recycled. Here are some ideas to consider:
1. Chopped Party: Inspired by the popular cooking show, attendees can bring a random dish using certain ingredients, and the best dish wins a prize.
2. TED Talk Party: Have everyone prepare a 5-minute "TED Talk" on a subject they're passionate about. This could range from explanations of scientific theories to why a certain TV show character is underrated. Besides being fun and stimulating, it could be a great way to get to know each other on a different level.
3. Decades Dress-Up: Instead of the usual 70s or 80s night, you could go for the lesser chosen eras. Why not do a 1920s speakeasy, a roaring 1950s, or even a futuristic theme?
4. Silent Disco: Provide wireless headphones and have two or three different DJs or playlists playing at once. It's hilarious to see people dancing to different beats!
5. Color Wars: Assign attendees a color when they RSVP and ask them to wear as much of that color as possible. You could even have color-specific games or competitions throughout the night.
6. Stargazing Party: Arrange for a night out under the stars, equipped with blankets, telescopes, and enough astronomy resources to guide you through the celestial sights.
7. DIY fair: Have different stations for various DIY activities - painting, tie-dye, bracelets making - it's fun and people get to leave with something they made.
Just always make sure to ensure your party themes and activities are inclusive and respectful to all attendees, and of course, tons of fun. Happy planning!
