Most Advanced High School Classes?

Hey all, I'm trying to challenge myself academically and was wondering - what are the most advanced high school classes out there? I'm especially interested in subjects that go beyond the typical AP courses.

If you're looking for rigor beyond Advanced Placement (AP) levels, you might want to consider Dual Enrollment courses. These are classes that you take either at your high school or a nearby community college or university, where you could earn both high school and college credit. Requirements for these courses might vary depending upon the college and high school, but they will provide you with exposure to college-level courses and could be seen very favorably by colleges during admissions.

Another option could be post-AP or advanced studies courses. Some schools offer post-AP courses in multiple disciplines — for instance, after taking AP Calculus BC, a student might opt for Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, or Differential Equations. Similarly, after Physics C, a student could take Quantum Physics or Astrophysics, if available.

If you're particularly interested in the sciences, you might want to consider conducting research via a 'Directed Study' or 'Independent Research' course. In such a course, you will have a chance to work closely with a teacher or an outside mentor on a project of your choosing, which could culminate in submission to science or research competitions.
