Most politically engaged college hunt

Any idea which colleges have the most active student bodies when it comes to politics? I absolutely love being a part of rallies, discussions and campaigns and I'm hoping to find a school that shares this passion.

There are indeed some universities known for having active, politically engaged student bodies. Here are a few:

1. George Washington University: Located in Washington D.C., arguably the political hub of the United States, GWU offers a unique setting for political activities. Many students intern on Capitol Hill, for non-profits or political campaigns, freshman dorms are literally four blocks from the White House.

2. American University: Also in D.C., American University has a high level of political activity among students. They have a highly respected School of International Service and School of Public Affairs, and abundant opportunities for internships related to politics.

3. Georgetown University: Yet another D.C. institution, Georgetown’s political science department is well-regarded, and the student body is known for being politically active.

4. University of California, Berkeley: UC Berkeley has a strong history of political activism dating back to the Free Speech Movement in the 1960s. Berkeley is famous for protests and rallies, and activism is a big part of student life.

5. Oberlin College: This liberal arts college in Ohio is known for its progressive causes, so if you lean left, this could be a good fit. They have a history of activism dating back to abolitionist movements.

6. Columbia University: Located in New York City, Columbia has a highly involved student body and is very active in national and international politics.

7. Harvard University: Through organizations like the Institute of Politics and the public service initiatives, Harvard students are actively engaged in politics and public service, both on and off-campus.

Each of these schools tends to foster a culture of political thinking and active engagement, but remember, the fit also depends on your political views and the type and level of participation you're looking for. You would want to check in with clubs or organizations related to your specific areas of interest at each of these schools to get a better sense of the atmosphere and activities. Hope this helps!
