What's the most advanced math you can take in high school?

I'm a junior who has a knack for math and I'm eyeing a potential career in a related field. I just want to know how far you can push it while still in high school. Any ideas?

In general, high schools often culminate their math curriculum with Calculus, which could be offered at varying levels - Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC if following an AP track. Calculus BC covers the most advanced material, roughly equivalent to both first and second-semester college calculus courses.

However, some high schools and districts may offer even more advanced courses if there is sufficient demand or they run specialized programs. Examples could be Multivariable Calculus (third-semester college calculus), Linear Algebra, or Differential Equations. These are usually college-level classes that can provide high school students with a taste of university-level coursework and a strong foundation for future study in fields such as engineering, computer science, physics, or economics.

However, if your school doesn't offer these options, you could look into dual-enrollment classes with a local community college or university. Another option could also be self-studying or taking online courses, through platforms such as Khan Academy or Coursera, where one can pursue advanced math topics at their own pace. Keep in mind, however, that colleges typically value coursework that is reflected on your transcript, so dual enrollment may be a better approach in terms of education preparation and college admissions compared to self-study.
