Which college students are the most overworked?

I've been hearing a lot about how heavy the workload can be during college. Which colleges or majors tend to have the most overworked students? I want to plan a balanced academic life during my college years.

The workload for college students often depends on different factors such as the major, the specific courses and professors, and the individual student's approach to their studies. However, some universities and certain majors have earned a reputation for heavier workloads.

In terms of universities, some Ivy League schools like Princeton, Cornell, and Columbia are often reported by students to have demanding workloads. Similarly, technical schools such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) are well-known for their rigorous academic challenges. These institutions have high expectations for their students and offer coursework that can be quite intensive.

When considering majors, a higher workload often correlates with the complexity and rigorous nature of the major's requirements. Therefore, it's typically seen that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can be quite demanding. For example, engineering majors - whether it be chemical, civil, or computer - are often considered among the most challenging due to heavy course loads and a lot of time dedicated to labs and practical work. The same goes for architecture majors, where projects can be quite time-consuming.
