Which College Major is Considered the Most Pressure-intensive?

So, I've heard that some majors can get pretty intense. Just for my curiosity (and also so I know what I might be getting myself into), does anyone know which major is generally considered the most pressure-intensive? And why? Any personal experiences would be greatly helpful too.

While it's not universally true across all colleges and students, Engineering and Pre-Medical tracks are often recognized as particularly demanding due to the rigorous curriculum, workload, and competitive atmosphere.

Engineering majors, such as Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, and Chemical, come with complex technical concepts and labor-intensive project work. Often, you're required to take a substantial number of credit hours, resulting in a packed schedule of classes. There's also a higher emphasis on problem-solving and design elements which often translates to out-of-class project work adding to the academic pressure.

Pre-Medical students also face notable pressure due to the competitive nature of medical school admissions. These students need to excel in challenging courses, such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math while also balancing the demands of essential extra-curriculars like research, clinical experiences, and volunteer work. The need to maintain a high GPA, gain relevant experience, and perform well on the MCAT adds up to become a significant source of stress.

That said, the pressure related to a major is subjective and depends on one's individual strengths, interests, and overall approach to time management and stress. For some people, Art or Music can be high-pressure if they do not naturally gravitate towards the skills required. For others, Humanities or Social Sciences may be stressful due to the extensive reading and writing requirements.

What comes naturally to one person may be very challenging for someone else. Therefore, it is essential to choose a major that aligns with your strengths and interests rather than making a selection based on pressure levels. Remember, pressure or intensity shouldn't necessarily deter you from a field you're excited about, as it can also foster a powerful learning environment and personal growth.
