Clubs at IU Bloomington College?

Hey guys, I've been admitted to IU Bloomington and I've heard a lot about their clubs. Could anyone tell me which are the most prestigious clubs at IU Bloomington College and why? Really want to get involved in the campus life!

Congratulations on your admission to IU Bloomington! The college indeed offers a variety of clubs and organizations, over 750 in fact, spanning a vast array of interests and catering to students from all backgrounds.

A popular and quite prestigious academic society is the Hutton Honors Council Association. This organization is devoted to providing extended learning opportunities for students in the Hutton Honors College.

The Kelley School of Business has several prestigious organizations such as the Investment Banking Workshop and the Consulting Workshop; admission into these groups is highly competitive but worthwhile, as they offer networking opportunities, skill-building sessions with industry professionals, and sometimes even job placements after graduation.

In terms of governmental or civic engagement, the IU Student Government can be a valuable way to gain leadership skills and contribute to shaping the University's policies, making it an appealing choice for many students.

While academic and professional societies might be considered traditionally "prestigious," remember to pursue clubs that truly align with your personal passions and interests. If you enjoy writing or journalism, consider joining the Indiana Daily Student newspaper. If performing arts are your passion, perhaps IU's Theatre Drama Club or Jacobs School of Music ensembles would suit you.

Often, the "prestige" of a club is subjective and depends on what you hope to gain from the experience. Some students find joining an organization related to their academic major valuable, while others might view clubs as a way to explore personal interests or hobbies.

I hope this gives you a starting point as you explore IU Bloomington's club scene! Remember, the experience you obtain from any organization will largely depend on the effort and enthusiasm you put into it. Happy exploring!
