Top college in South Carolina?

I'm in the process of researching colleges and I'm considering staying in state (South Carolina). Can anyone tell me which college here is considered the most prestigious?

The most prestigious college in South Carolina is typically regarded to be the University of South Carolina (USC). It is a large public research university located in the state's capital, Columbia, and is known for its strong programs in business, education, engineering, and hospitality. The school's International Business undergraduate program is particularly noteworthy, having been ranked number one by U.S. News & World Report multiple times.

Clemson University is another highly regarded institution in the state. Located in Clemson, it is a public research university recognized for its strong programs in Engineering and Science disciplines, as well as Business and Health and Human Development. Clemson University strives to combine the benefits of a large research university with the sense of community found in a smaller college setting, creating what they call a "small college feel with big school resources".

Also worth mentioning are Furman University in Greenville, and Wofford College in Spartanburg, which are more selective, smaller liberal arts colleges known for the quality of their undergraduate education.

Just remember while these institutions may have strong reputations, the most important factor in choosing a college should be how well it fits your personal and academic needs. Research and visit each potential institution, and take into account factors such as size, location, academic programs offered, student support services, campus culture, available financial aid, and so on, to help you determine which college is the best fit for you. You might find that a less "prestigious" institution ends up being the ideal one for you.
