What's the most random college scholarship you've ever heard of?

I'm currently looking for scholarships and I've heard there are some pretty quirky ones out there. I'm planning to apply for all sorts of scholarships, regardless of how unconventional they might be, as every little bit of financial aid can help with college expenses. Can anyone share some of the most random college scholarships they've heard of or applied to?

There's a surprisingly diverse mix of scholarship opportunities out there. Some of them are indeed quite unique and might be considered "quirky". Here are a few I recall:

1. The "Stuck at Prom" Scholarship: Students have to create and wear a prom outfit completely made of Duck Tape brand duct tape to prom. Photos are submitted, and the public votes on the best creations to determine winners.

2. The Zolp Scholarship: This one is specifically for students attending Loyola University in Chicago, but it's unique in the fact that it requires the recipient to have the legal last name of Zolp. If that's your last name, the scholarship can cover anything from partial to full tuition.

3. The American Nudist Research Library Scholarship: Yes, this is a real thing. This scholarship is for students planning to do research in the field of nudist culture, history, or associated areas.

4. The Tall Clubs International Scholarship: If you're a woman over 5'10" or a man over 6'2", you could qualify for this scholarship. Applicants must write an essay about what being tall means to them.

5. The Klingon Language Institute’s Kor Memorial Scholarship: Even though you don't need to be a Star Trek fan to apply, this scholarship is awarded to students in the field of language study, and was created to recognize and encourage scholarship in fields related to language.

Please remember, while pursuing such unique scholarships can certainly be fun and less competitive due to their specific requirements, it's also crucial to balance this with traditional scholarships that align with your academic and extracurricular interests. Good luck with your scholarship applications!
