What's the most widely read book among college students today?

I'm curious about the trends in reading among college-age kids. What book (or books) would you argue are most read by college-age students today? Is it something more traditional, or something recent and trending?

Although there's no official list of the most common books read by college students nationwide, there are a few recent trends you might find interesting.

"Normal People" by Sally Rooney has gained quite a lot of traction among college students, partially due to the book's setting and characters, but also because of the popular TV adaptation. The story's exploration of intimacy, class, and mental health has resonated with a lot of young adults.

Another popular book is Michelle Obama's "Becoming". The memoir provides insight into Obama's journey from her childhood to her time as First Lady, and it has resonated with many young people, particularly those with an interest in social justice and civic engagement.

That being said, other genres like sci-fi and fantasy also remain quite popular, especially among students looking for something to read in their downtime. Books like "Dune" by Frank Herbert and "Game of Thrones" by George R.R. Martin continue to engage students with their intricate plotlines and immersive world-building.

The "Harry Potter" series by J.K. Rowling is also worth mentioning. Many college students grew up reading these books, and they often continue to re-read them for comfort or nostalgia. As for more traditional works, novels like "1984" by George Orwell and "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee still often appear on college reading lists due to their universal themes and cultural importance.

It's tricky to pinpoint an exact book that tops the list for all college students, as reading preferences can vary greatly depending on individual taste, academic focus, and current societal or cultural phenomena.
