Small college professional athletes?

Hey all, I'm curious, are there any well-known quarterbacks who didn't go to a big college? Would love to hear about any success stories to shake this big school bias.

Absolutely, there are several well-known quarterbacks in the NFL who have come from smaller college programs. Some players who come from these schools actually end up becoming some of the best players in the league.

One notable example is Tony Romo, the former quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. He attended Eastern Illinois University, a school in the Football Championship Subdivision, not the larger Football Bowl Subdivision. Despite playing in this smaller division, he was still able to make it to the NFL and had a successful career.

Another example is Ben Roethlisberger. He played for Miami University in Ohio, not to be confused with the University of Miami in Florida. Despite not playing for a football powerhouse, Roethlisberger was drafted 11th overall in the 2004 NFL Draft and has since had a standout career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including two Super Bowl wins.

Finally, there's Carson Wentz who played for North Dakota State University, another FCS school. Wentz was the 2nd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and has played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts.

Each of these quarterbacks, and plenty others, serve as examples that you don't necessarily have to attend a big school to find success in the NFL. There's opportunity to be found wherever you choose to play.
