What are the college majors of the most successful people?

Hey everyone! I'm curious, are there certain college majors that are more common among highly successful people? I'd love to hear any insights or observations about this.

Hi there. Defining "success" can vary greatly from person to person. For some, it might be attaining a high-paying job, while for others, it might be academic recognition, or significant contributions to society.

What we do know, however, is that there is a wide variety of fields that successful people graduate from. For instance, many Fortune 500 CEOs studied business or economics, but other fields like engineering, computer science, and liberal arts are also common. For example, Amazon's Jeff Bezos holds a degree in electrical engineering and computer science, while GM's Mary Barra has a degree in electrical engineering.

Moreover, many successful people in the tech industry studied computer science or similar fields. This includes Bill Gates (Microsoft) and Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), both Harvard dropouts but originally enrolled in computer science related courses.

In the realm of academics and research, advanced degrees usually in specific disciplines are common. Nobel laureates, for instance, typically hold PhDs in their fields of expertise, whether that is physics, chemistry, peace, or literature.

Then we have successful figures in arts and entertainment. Lin Manuel Miranda, the creator of Hamilton, studied theater arts, while author J.K. Rowling studied languages and classics.

The takeaway from all this? Success can come from any discipline as long as you are driven, passionate, and willing to work hard in your chosen field. Rather than focusing on what others have done, think about what you are interested in and how you can utilize your skills and passions to forge your own path to success.
