What are the most skateboard-friendly colleges?

Hey everyone, I'm a junior looking forward to coming up with a college shortlist. Skateboarding is an activity that's integral to my daily routine and it's something I would love to continue doing in college. So does anyone have recommendations for colleges known for being particularly skateboard-friendly? I'm open to all suggestions, regardless of the size or location of the campus. Thanks a bunch!

Hello, it's great to see you're considering your hobbies in your college search. Skateboarding culture is definitely alive in different college campuses around the country, and I want to mention a few that are often appreciated by skateboard enthusiasts for their facilities, campus design, and the culture.

1. University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB): UCSB is known for its skateboarding culture. The campus is built to accommodate skateboarders with plenty of bike lanes that can also be used for skateboards. In fact, it's even designated as a Skate Friendly campus.

2. University of California, San Diego (UCSD): Much like UCSB, UCSD has a substantial skateboarding culture. They have a very skateboard-friendly campus and a very active skateboarding club.

3. University of Southern California (USC): USC has the USC Skateboarding Association, where students organize meet-ups, go to skate parks together, and generally promote skateboarding within the community.

4. University of Colorado Boulder: Boulder's campus has several spots for skating and the city itself is known for its welcoming attitude towards skateboarders. Boulder also has several skate parks.

5. Stanford University: Stanford has a reported "skateboard-friendly" policy and features smooth, wide, gently curving walking paths perfect for longboarding. The local area also has multiple skate parks.

These are just a few examples of colleges with a robust skateboarding culture. Keep in mind that safety rules can vary by campus, so you might want to consider checking out the individual school's policies before making a decision. Happy skating and college hunting!
