What's more stressful: Job Hunting or College Applications?

So, I'm in the thick of applications now and it's been kind of a wild ride. Just wondering how this compares to job seeking after college. Anyone who's been through both have any insights? Are they equally as nerve-wracking or is one usually worse?

Comparing college applications and job hunting is like comparing apples and oranges - they're both stressful, but in different ways.

Applying for college can be stress-inducing because, for many students, it's the first major life decision they're making. You're juggling things like researching colleges, keeping up with classes, and participating in extracurricular activities. Plus, there are deadlines to keep in mind and essays to write. In essence, the stress of college applications often comes from the volume of work and the high stakes of the process.

On the other hand, job hunting after college can be stressful because, unlike applying for college, there's an element of unpredictability. With job hunting, there isn't a set timeline or predictability. You could apply for hundreds of jobs and get only a few responses. Plus, there's the pressure of needing to start a career and be financially independent.

In both cases, the stress can be mitigated by starting early, staying organized, and asking for help along the way. Whether it's reaching out to a guidance counselor with college application questions, or leveraging your college's career services for resume reviews and mock interviews, it's important to remember that there are resources available to help manage the stress of these processes. As with many things in life, your mileage may vary, and each individual will have unique experiences with both processes based on their circumstances.
