Transfer Credits in Online Colleges?

Hey all, so I've taken a decent amount of college coursework and I'm considering switching to an online school. Is there an online college that typically accepts the most transfer credits? I would appreciate any info on this, thanks!

The process for transferring credits can be different depending on the program or institution. Some online schools are more flexible than others in accepting transfer credits. Online institutions like Western Governors University (WGU), Arizona State University (ASU) online, or Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) are known for their relatively generous credit transfer policies.

However, you might not be able to transfer all your credits regardless of the school. The number of credits you can transfer often depends on the degree you're pursuing and how closely your previous coursework aligns with the requirements of your new program. Some programs might require you to complete a certain percentage of coursework at their school to qualify for a degree.

You should get your coursework evaluated by the schools you're interested in attending. Generally, they will need your transcripts, course syllabi, and sometimes assignments for evaluation. Schools will then determine which of your credits match their requirements.

Please note that having your credits evaluated does not guarantee all of them will be accepted. Each institution has its own criteria for awarding credit and just because one school may grant you a certain amount of transfer credits does not mean another will do the same.

Furthermore, it would be advantageous for you to ask about articulation agreements or partnerships between your current institution and the online school you are considering, as these agreements could expedite the transfer process or guarantee the acceptance of certain credits. Also, inquire about the Maximum Transferable Credit limit (which is usually around 90 semester hours at most institutions for a Bachelor's degree) to ensure you won't be losing out on any earned credits.

Remember, the goal is not just to find an institution that accepts the most credits, but to ensure the institution suits your academic and career aspirations.
