Best state for aspiring doctors?

I'm planning my way to med school and looking to pursue undergrad in a state which also hosts many medical colleges, just to be in the right environment. Can anyone point out which state has the most medical colleges?

Sure thing!

In terms of sheer numbers, California is the state with the most medical schools, at 12 accredited allopathic medical schools. Those include well-known institutions like Stanford University School of Medicine, University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, and the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.

New York isn't far behind with 10 medical schools, including renowned institutions such as Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Weill Cornell Medicine.

Doing your research about the strengths of each medical school and which ones fit your career goals is essential. While being in close vicinity to a medical school can be beneficial by providing volunteering or possible shadowing opportunities, what's truly important is the quality of your pre-medical education, your GPA, MCAT scores, extracurricular activities and experiences, and letters of recommendation. In other words, being in proximity to many medical schools doesn't inherently increase your chances of admission.

Remember, it's about your journey and not your location. You can certainly become a successful doctor no matter where you complete your undergraduate studies. Good luck with your future endeavors!
