Needing help with a general chemistry textbook

I'm prepping for my first year college classes, specifically chemistry. Does anyone know what the most used or popular textbook for college general chemistry is?

One commonly used textbook for general chemistry at the college level is "Chemistry: The Central Science" by Theodore E. Brown, H. Eugene LeMay, Bruce E. Bursten, Catherine Murphy, Patrick Woodward, and Matthew E. Stoltzfus. This textbook offers a comprehensive introduction to the foundational principles of chemistry and is well-regarded for its clear explanations and practice problems.

Another widely used option is "Principles of Modern Chemistry" by David W. Oxtoby, H. Pat Gillis, and Alan Campion. This one dives deeper into the underlying principles of chemistry and is noted for its rigorous mathematical derivations and explanations.

It's worth mentioning, however, that your college might have a specific textbook they use for their general chemistry course, so it could be beneficial to reach out to your professor or the chemistry department to see if they have a recommended text. Doing so will ensure that you have the correct resources that align with your course syllabus.
