Looking for underrated liberal arts colleges

I'm really interested in a liberal arts education, but I know there are a lot more institutions out there than just the usual suspects. Can anyone suggest some lesser-known but still excellent liberal arts colleges?

Certainly! There's a plethora of underrated liberal arts colleges out there that offers exceptional education experience. Here are some:

1. Centre College in Kentucky is often overlooked but is known for its strong programs and an emphasis on study abroad, internships, and undergraduate research.

2. St. Olaf College in Minnesota is commendable for its strong programs in music and the sciences. The college also offers an impressive dining plan, which is a notable perk.

3. Oberlin College in Ohio is a fantastic liberal arts college and is also home to a very reputable Conservatory of Music.

4. Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee, often referred to simply as Sewanee, boasts an absolutely gorgeous campus and strong offerings in the humanities. Sewanee is also known for its emphasis on writing across all disciplines.

5. Colorado College uses a unique "block plan," where students take one course at a time in intensive 3.5-week blocks. This system allows for immersive and experiential learning.

6. Reed College in Oregon is an excellent liberal arts college known for its rigorous academics and emphasis on critical thinking. Reed has a higher-than-average number of students go on to earn doctorates.

Remember, the most important factor is that the college is a good fit for you personally. While these colleges may not always be the first names you hear in the discussion of liberal arts colleges, they hold their own when it comes to providing an exceptional liberal arts education.
