Does dorm beauty matter?

I'm preparing to hit the 'apply' button on a bunch of colleges and I'm starting to think about where I'll live. I've heard dorm life is a big part of the college experience. What are your opinions on the most beautiful college dorms? Does the look of my dorm really matter? Because I'm not gonna lie, I'd love to have a nice view from my room.

While a dorm with a great view or aesthetically pleasing setup may be a nice bonus, it’s important to understand that the quality of your college experience doesn't solely rely on the "beauty" of your dorm. One could argue that the more crucial factors to consider would be the amenities the dorm offers, the location on campus, the sense of community, and, most importantly, the quality of the overall learning environment.

The community and relationships you'll form in your dorm could even end up being more impactful than the physical attributes of the dorm itself.

If a beautiful view or a nicely designed dorm is critical to you, that's perfectly fine. Just ensure you're also considering the aspects that can significantly affect your college experience. For example, if you prefer quiet environments for study, a dorm known for its social vibe, regardless of how beautiful it may be, might not be the best fit for you.

Remember that everyone’s preferences will vary when it comes to dorm life. Depending on the person, a "beautiful" dorm might mean one with modern architecture, lots of natural light, close proximity to nature, or even having historical significance. So it's important to understand what you personally value in your living environment.
