College town walkability?

Hello all. I really love the thought of living in a college town that's easy to navigate by foot. Any suggestions on which college towns are especially good these days in terms of being walkable?

Sure, there are actually several colleges known for their highly walkable communities. In particular:

1. Harvard University and MIT in Cambridge, MA: This city near Boston is incredibly walkable. There are a ton of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues within walking distance from campus, and you're also not far from the Boston city center.

2. University of California, Berkeley: The city of Berkeley is very pedestrian-friendly with a host of restaurants, stores, and coffee shops near campus.

3. The University of Colorado Boulder: Boulder's a compact, vibrant town with plenty to do. Plus the city is known for its love of outdoor activities, so the pedestrian life fits right in.

4. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: The town of Chapel Hill has a very welcoming and walkable downtown with local shops and restaurants.

5. Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN: The university is in a great location that's within walking distance of cute cafes, restaurants, shops, and a beautiful park.

6. University of Virginia in Charlottesville: It's a stunning and very walkable town with incredible views in every direction.

When you visit potential colleges, I'd highly recommend spending time getting to know the local town or city on foot if possible. You can get a sense of what daily life will be like and how convenient it is to get from one place to another. Just keep in mind that "walkability" can be subjective and can depend on your personal comfort level, physical fitness, and preference for walking.
