States with most women's colleges?

I'm interested in applying to women's colleges, and am curious about where there might be a lot of them. Therefore, I'm wondering which state has the most women's colleges?

The state with the most women's colleges historically has been Massachusetts. Some of the very well-known all-women's colleges located in Massachusetts include Wellesley College, Simmons University, and Mount Holyoke College. However, over the years due to various factors such as merging with co-education institutions, the exact number might fluctuate.

In addition to Massachusetts, Pennsylvania also has a good number of women's colleges, with institutions like Bryn Mawr and Cedar Crest College. Virginia, with schools like Hollins University and Mary Baldwin University, also has a number of women's colleges.

As you proceed with your research on potential colleges, remember that each of these institutions has its own unique characteristics, academic programs, and campus culture. It's important to consider various factors such as academic offerings, location, size, and resources, in addition to the single-gender environment.
