Finding Colleges With Strong Olympic Connections?

So I'm a bit of an Olympic nut, I love following the games and also the stories of the various athletes. And I'm trying to find a college where I could maybe meet some future Olympians, or even train with them. Do you guys know which US colleges have had the most Olympic athletes?

There are few colleges here in the U.S known for their reputations in producing Olympic athletes. Training with future Olympians might require high athletic ability and skill, especially in your preferred sport, but you will definitely meet plenty of athletic dedicated students at these universities.

The first one that comes to mind is Stanford University in California. Stanford has a rich history of Olympic athlete participation. In fact, if Stanford were a country, it would rank among the top nations for Olympic medals won, right up there with France and Germany. Stanford athletes, both students, and alumni, have participated in every Olympiad since 1908, and have earned medals in every Olympics since 1912.

The University of Southern California (USC) is another institution to consider. USC has a longstanding tradition of being represented in the Olympics. Like Stanford, USC Olympians, if they were their own nation, would also rank high in terms of medals won.

The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, has strong connections to Olympic basketball, especially with the coaching lineage tied to the USA Men's Basketball team. They've also had success with soccer and field hockey Olympians.

If you're interested in winter sports, University of Utah and Dartmouth College have had strong showings with winter Olympians, especially in skiing and snowboarding.

These are just a few examples, and there are many other U.S. colleges with strong connections to the Olympics. Look into each one, see what sports or disciplines they specialize in, and whether their programs align with your academic and athletic interests.
