In my view, public speaking or any form of a communication course can be a game-changer for many students, regardless of their majors. These classes generally work on improving your presentation skills, your ability to think on your feet, and your confidence in front of a group, which will come in handy in any professional setting you end up in. It's also an opportunity to develop a comfort level with giving and receiving feedback. Moreover, you'll likely be asked to research and present on various topics, which can surprisingly deepen your knowledge base in a range of areas.

In addition to public speaking, I'd say any course that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving can be extremely beneficial. For instance, philosophy classes, while perhaps not directly applicable to many career paths, offer skills in logical reasoning and ethical consideration that can be valuable in personal and professional life. Courses that involve a lot of writing also enhance communication skills, which are essential in virtually every field.
