Any colleges with unique nicknames?

One of the things I enjoy doing is collecting unique and peculiar stuff. I've been trying to find out information about colleges with unique nicknames, the kind that make you go 'What?!'. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Certainly, there are several colleges with unique and fun nicknames. Here are a few:

1. University of California, Santa Cruz: Their mascot is 'Sammy the Slug' and their teams are known as the 'Banana Slugs.' Not your typical fierce mascot, but it definitely stands out!

2. St. Louis College of Pharmacy: Their teams are called the 'Eutectics.' The term 'eutectic' refers to the process of two solids being combined to form a liquid, a nod to their pharmacy program.

3. University of Akron: Their teams are the 'Zips,' short for 'Zippers.' The name originated from a popular rubber overshoe made in the '20s by a company based in Akron.

4. Evergreen State College: Their teams go by the 'Geoducks', pronounced ‘gooey-ducks,’ which is a type of large clam native to the northwest United States.

5. Scottsdale Community College: They're the 'Fighting Artichokes.' The mascot was chosen in the '70s as a protest to the school's spending on athletics.

6. Concordia College: Their teams are the 'Cobbers,' complete with a corn cob mascot, as Concordia is located in the heart of Minnesota's rich farmland area.

These are just a few examples of universities and colleges with unique team names and mascots. It's always fun to find those hidden gems that really express the uniqueness and humor contained within each school's community!
