What US colleges have the most black students?

Inclusivity and diversity on campus is really important to me. I want to make sure I select a college that truly embraces diversity and has a significant proportion of black students. Can anyone help me know which schools could fit this criteria?

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, some of the universities with the highest percentages of black students (as a proportion of their total student body) are predominantly historically black universities (HBCUs). These include Howard University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College among others. Morehouse and Spelman are all-male and all-female colleges respectively, whereas Howard is coeducational.

Non-HBCUs with high black student percentages include University of the District of Columbia, Chicago State University, and Clayton State University in Georgia. However, it's important to remember that a high percentage of black students doesn't necessarily mean a large absolute number of black students. Some larger, non-HBCU universities like Florida State University, University of Alabama, and North Carolina A&T University also have substantial black student populations because they have large student bodies overall.

Of course, you'll want to consider many factors as you decide where to apply, such as your academic interests, the school's location, financial aid availability, student life, and so on. I encourage you to reach out directly to these university's admissions or diversity offices for further information so you can find the school that’s the best fit for you.
