Which State has the Highest Number of Division 1 Women's Basketball Colleges?

Hello! I'm a junior high schooler and a passionate basketball player. I've been playing throughout high school and would love to continue into college. So, which state is home to the most division 1 women's basketball programs? I figure it might give me an idea of where to start narrowing down colleges.

In terms of sheer numbers, California holds the record for the highest number of NCAA Division I Women's Basketball programs. There are more than 20 colleges in California that host Division 1 programs for women's basketball.

Some of these colleges include Stanford University, University of Southern California, University of California system (with numerous campuses like UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UCLA, etc.), and San Jose State University. Remember that while quantity is a good starting point, it's also essential to consider the quality of the program itself, the school's academic reputation, and how well it meshes with your potential majors.

Don't forget to take factors like scholarships, campus environment, and faculty into account when narrowing down your college choices. Basketball can be a pivotal part of your college experience, and so can the academic and social aspects. Good luck with your college search and basketball career!
