So I've been thinking about the future a lot recently (who isn't?) and I'm incredibly passionate about politics and leadership. Do any of you guys know what the most common college majors are among world leaders? Just thought this could be an interesting discussion!
A significant number of world leaders have backgrounds in Law or Political Science. For example, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau studied the former before pursuing education, while numerous presidents and prime ministers have the latter as their educational background.
At the same time, Economics is another frequently seen field of study, important for understanding national and international financial systems.
However, it does vary quite a bit. For instance, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel studied Physics at university. While this might seem surprising, it's worth remembering that developing strong problem-solving and analytical skills can be beneficial in any discipline.
One thing to emphasize though: while it's interesting to see patterns like these, ultimately what matters most is studying something you're passionate about, and that you think can help you make the kind of change you want to see. Being a successful leader rests on a multitude of factors, not just what you studied in college.
