Most exclusive college programs for undergrads?

Stressed out junior here. I've been hearing a lot about these 'exclusive' college programs that like, only a handfull of students get into each year. Can anyone give me some examples of what these programs might be?

Certainly! Here are a few notably competitive college programs:

1. Brown University's Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) combines an undergraduate education with medical school into an 8-year program. Admission is quite competitive, with less than 4% of students accepted in some years.

2. University of Pennsylvania Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology (M&T Program): This program offers students an opportunity to earn dual degrees from the Wharton School (B.S. in Economics) and Penn Engineering (B.S.E./BAS). It's known to be highly selective.

3. Stanford University's Symbolic Systems Program: Combines elements of computer science, psychology, linguistics, and philosophy. A number of famous alum, including LinkedIn's Co-Founder Reid Hoffman and Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer, graduated from this program.

4. Carnegie Mellon's BXA Intercollege Degree Programs: These programs allow students to combine a Bachelor of Humanities and Arts, a Bachelor of Science and Arts, or a Bachelor of Computer Science and Arts. Acceptance into BXA programs is highly selective.

5. Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Science’s Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management: This undergraduate business program typically only admits about 100 students per year.

6. Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS): While EECS is not an "exclusive" program in the traditional sense, it's worth mentioning due to MIT's overall prestige and high selectivity.

These programs tend to be more selective than traditional undergraduate programs at the same universities. They often require additional application essays and interviews. This level of competition might sound daunting, but if you think you would thrive in one of these program cultures and can demonstrate your potential contributions in a compelling way, it's worth considering!
