Most Challenging Catholic High Schools?

I'm looking at Catholic high schools and want to push myself academically. Can anyone share what the most challenging Catholic high schools are?

There are several Catholic high schools across the country known for their rigorous academic programs. Here is a list, but remember that "most challenging" can differ depending on what gets challenging for you (strong STEM program, rigorous literature courses, etc.).

1. Regis High School (New York, NY): Known for rigorous academics infused with traditional Catholic values, it has a strong liberal arts curriculum and is recognized as a leader among Catholic schools in the nation.

2. Georgetown Preparatory School (North Bethesda, MD): Respected for its academic rigor and its dedicated teaching faculty. The school offers 24 AP courses and the curriculum includes a four-year theology course.

3. Loyola High School (Los Angeles, CA): Balances rigorous academics with robust arts and athletics programs. It offers 21 AP courses and a unique Service Program which complements the academic learning experience.

4. St. Ignatius College Prep (San Francisco, CA): Renowned for its challenging curriculum as well as devotion to social justice. The school offers 24 AP courses, and students are encouraged to engage in community service.

5. Boston College High School (Boston, MA): Combining Jesuit traditions with challenging academics, the school offers more than 20 AP courses and requires 100 hours of community service for graduation.

6. Sacred Heart Schools (Atherton, CA): Known for a challenging curriculum in a values-oriented environment. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for college and beyond, with an emphasis on critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

Remember that a school being academically challenging is important, but it's also important to consider other factors such as the school's culture, extracurricular offerings, and support for students. I also recommend visiting any potential schools and speaking with current students to get a sense of what the experience is truly like.
