All-time record: Which college has produced the most MLB players?

Baseball has always been my passion and now that I'm looking at colleges, I'm wondering which college produced the most MLB players of all time. Does having skills in baseball help in college admissions, or is the process mainly based on academic performance?

The University of Southern California (USC) holds the record for producing the most MLB players, with over 100 Trojan alumni reaching the major leagues. Notable alumni include Randy Johnson, Mark McGwire, and Barry Zito.

While it's an impressive record, it's also important to note that USC has an esteemed baseball program, which has attracted talented players over years. So while baseball prowess does not guarantee admission, excelling in baseball can still be beneficial in the college admissions process, particularly at institutions with strong athletic programs.

That being said, even if you're being recruited for your athletic skills, academics still play a crucial role in the admissions process. While athlete recruitment might favor a talented player, colleges expect their student-athletes to meet similar academic standards to the rest of their student body. All applicants, athletes included, are expected to have solid grades, good course rigor, and formative extracurriculars.
