Generous with Scholarships?

Hey guys, money's kind of a tight issue for me and I've been hoping to get some scholarships to help me out. Does anyone know which colleges are known for providing the most in scholarships or financial aid to their students?

Sure, happy to help with this! Many colleges are committed to making their education more affordable. It's good you're aware of the role scholarships and financial aid can play.

Well, although many universities offer substantial scholarship packages, a few tend to stand out:

1. Stanford University: Stanford guarantees that students whose family income is below $125,000 will not be required to pay tuition, and those with family income below $65,000 will also have room and board covered.

2. Harvard University: Families earning below $85,000 a year aren't expected to pay - this includes both tuition and room and board. Those earning between $85,000 and $150,000 pay a percentage of their income, up to 10%.

3. MIT: MIT offers need-based scholarships to all students with demonstrated financial need, covering full tuition for families earning $140,000 or less.

4. Duke University: The university meets 100% of each student’s demonstrated financial need for the full duration of their undergraduate career.

5. Vanderbilt University: Through Opportunity Vanderbilt, it meets 100% of a family's demonstrated financial need with a combination of grants and student work, meaning there are no loans in their aid packages.

Please remember though, financial aid considerations shouldn't be your only criteria for selecting a college. Try to examine the institutions from various angles as well (quality of your preferred program, campus culture, location, etc). And remember to use the net price calculator on each college's website to get an estimated cost of attendance. This should offer a more specific representation of what you could receive in aid at different institutions based on your specific financial circumstances.
