Most Beautiful Colleges in the South?

I recently came across a Southern Living video that showcased some beautiful southern colleges. The scenery and architecture had me awe-struck. It's got me thinking, what are some other beautiful colleges in the South?

There are certainly many gorgeous campuses in the South that combine historic architecture with stunning natural landscapes. Some popular ones include:

1. University of Virginia (UVA): Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, UVA boasts breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains while also offering classic collegiate architecture, including the iconic Rotunda designed by Thomas Jefferson himself.

2. Duke University: The Gothic-inspired architecture and the sprawling Sarah P. Duke Gardens make the Durham, North Carolina, campus a picturesque setting.

3. Vanderbilt University: Nestled in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, it's known for its beautiful arboretum-like campus. The historic buildings are interspersed with walking paths and green spaces that seem like an oasis within the city.

4. Rice University: This Houston, Texas-based school features a Mediterranean-inspired architecture and a 300-acre tree-filled campus.

5. College of Charleston: Located in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, the campus visual appeal lies in its historic buildings as well as its close proximity to beautiful Charleston Harbor and the city's historic district.

6. University of the South (Sewanee): Located atop the Cumberland Plateau between Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The campus is known for All Saints' Chapel and has been designated as a national historic district.

7. Louisiana State University (LSU): Baton Rouge based campus has plenty of southern charm. The campus is known for its Italian Renaissance architecture, live oak groves, magnolia trees, and beautiful lakes.

8. University of Georgia (UGA): Located in Athens, Georgia, UGA is often regarded as one of the most beautiful college campuses with its historic North Campus and vibrant downtown area.

Each of these campuses has unique features that contribute to their beauty, and I encourage you to look at photos and, if possible, visit in person to get a feel for the campus atmosphere. It's also crucial to remember that while campus aesthetics can enhance the college experience, they are just one facet to consider when choosing a college. Academic programs, campus culture, and financial factors should also be considered.
