Best major for future Registered Nurses?

Hello everybody! I plan on becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) after college. I was wondering, what college major would you guys think is most suited for a future RN?

Choosing a major can be a significant decision that dramatically impacts your future career path, so it's great that you're being proactive in your planning.

For a future registered nurse (RN), the most straightforward major would generally be Nursing. Many colleges and universities offer Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs specifically designed to prepare students for Registered Nursing careers. These programs will provide a comprehensive education in the field of nursing, where you'll get to learn about everything from patient care and medical procedures to healthcare systems and ethics. Plus, these programs often include clinical rotations, which will provide invaluable hands-on experience.

It's important to know, however, that majoring in nursing is not the only route towards becoming an RN. Other common majors for aspiring RNs include Public Health, Health Science, or even Biology. These degrees can often be a good fit if you're considering more advanced roles in nursing (such as Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Anesthesiologist, and so on) because they cover a wider array of subjects that could be useful when pursuing further study.

Remember, whether you choose Nursing or a related major, what's going to be most critical for you to become a successful RN is earning your RN license after graduation. This involves passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).
