Who's Leading in National Championships for Wrestling?

I'm big into wrestling and would love to continue it through college. Do you all know which college has the most national championships in wrestling? Does loads of national championships correlate to a good program?

The University of Iowa currently holds the most NCAA wrestling national championships, followed closely by Oklahoma State University. These two schools are traditionally powerhouses in college wrestling and are known nationally for their programs.

However, a high number of national championships is not the only marker of a strong wrestling program. You could also look at recent performance, the coaching staff quality, the depth and talent of the roster, the training facilities, and how many athletes the program sends to professional wrestling or the Olympics, among other factors.

For example, University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) might not have as many championships as University of Iowa, but the rigorous athletic and academic programs could provide a well-rounded experience for a college wrestler. Penn State's program has performed impressively in the last decade with multiple national titles. Different programs will also have varying cultures and team dynamics, which could greatly enhance or detract from your college wrestling experience.

So yes, a large number of national championships can indicate a historically strong program, but to find the right fit for you, you'd want to consider more than that one metric.
