Which colleges receive the most applications each year?

I've been wondering, there's gotta be some colleges that receive a staggering number of applications every year. Does anyone know which ones get the most applications?

Sure, great question! Each year, a good number of colleges and universities receive a large number of applications from prospective students across the globe. However, there are a few institutions that consistently top the list in terms of the volume of applications received.

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) often leads the pack. It's not uncommon for UCLA to get over 100,000 applications in a single application cycle, a number that seems to be increasing each year. Given its superb academics, location, and reputation, it's no wonder so many students wish to attend UCLA.

Another member of the University of California system, UC San Diego, is also known for attracting a high number of applications, typically exceeding 100,000 as well. Three more UCs - UC Irvine, UC Berkeley, and UC Santa Barbara - often come next in line, each receiving around 80,000-90,000+ applications.

Outside of California, New York University (NYU) and the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (UMich) also receive a high volume of applications, with each generally sitting around the 70,000-80,000 mark.

Please note that these numbers can fluctuate from year to year and can depend on various factors such as changes in admissions policies (like going test-optional) and shifts in student interest. For the most up-to-date numbers, it's best to check with the admissions offices of these schools directly or their reported statistics.
