Breaking the bank for admissions?

Hey folks! I've heard that some colleges might have some really hefty admission application fees. So, my question is - what's the most expensive college to apply for regarding application fees? Thanks in advance!

Responding from the perspective of a college admissions counselor, the application fees can indeed be significant, and they vary quite a bit. As of the most recent data available, the record for the highest application fee is held by Stanford University, with an application fee of $90.

However, keep in mind that many universities offer application fee waivers. These waivers are generally based on financial need and can significantly reduce the cost of applying to college. Some colleges also allow you to apply for free if you apply online through their own application portals. It's always a good idea to check each institution's policy on this to see if you may qualify.

An example for this would be Loyola University Chicago which doesn't charge an application fee at all.

Remember, although an application fee might seem like a lot now, it can often be a small investment compared to the potential value of receiving a quality education. But, of course, you should only pay the application fee for colleges you're serious about attending, and have done some research into their offerings, culture, and fit for your academic and career goals.
