Help! What are considered the toughest majors in college?

Alright, so I'm a junior trying to figure out my path and one thing that's got me curious is: what are the most difficult majors in college? I mean the ones that really make you sweat. Any thoughts? Thanks, guys!

Hello! The level of difficulty often depends on your strengths and interests, and it can vary quite a bit from one student to another. However, several majors are commonly cited as being particularly challenging due to their intensive coursework and time demands.

1. Engineering: Whether it's Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical, engineering majors are typically seen as very rigorous. They often require a hefty amount of physics, calculus, and advanced technical courses.

2. Physics: This major involves complex mathematical concepts and theories, plenty of lab work, and a deep understanding of how things work on a fundamental level.

3. Medicine/Biology-Based Majors: Pre-med, Nursing and other biology-related fields can be challenging because of the volume of memorization required, as well as extensive lab work.

4. Architecture: This program often requires many studio hours and projects on top of standard coursework.

5. Economics: Advanced Economics programs can be mathematically rigorous and complex, particularly if you're leaning into economic theory.

6. Computer Science: The constant evolution of technology requires students to constantly stay updated and grasp new concepts quickly.

Remember, the degree of difficulty can be subjective. Some students might find engineering easier than a humanities subject if their strengths align better with quantitative coursework. I would recommend considering your skills and interests when choosing a major. Rather than choosing the hardest, or the easiest major, choose the one that aligns best with your career aspirations and long-term goals. Good luck with your college planning!
