When are most Regular Decision applications due?

If I'm applying Regular Decision to most of my colleges, when should I expect most of these applications to be due? I want to be sure I'm giving myself enough time to complete each one thoroughly. Thanks for the help!

For the vast majority of colleges, Regular Decision application deadlines are typically around January 1st to January 15th. However, this can certainly vary by school, and some may even have deadlines as late as February or rolling deadlines that extend into spring.

Given the usual January timeframe, you'll likely want to start working on your application materials (such as your essays, activity list, and any supplemental materials required by specific programs) by the start of your senior year at the latest, if not sooner. This will give you ample time to complete each application thoroughly and thoughtfully.

Remember, the earlier you submit your application, the sooner the school will begin to review it. Therefore, it's good to aim for well before the deadline if possible to ensure everything is in order.

To ensure you're aware of each specific deadline, I'd recommend creating a spreadsheet or another form of an organization system where you list out all of your schools, their respective deadlines, and the components each application requires. With that said, always double-check the specific deadlines on each college's admission website, since they may update or change them.

Lastly, don't forget about financial aid applications such as FAFSA or CSS Profile. They have their own deadlines which are separate but just as critical.

Good luck with your applications!
